US Announces It Will Leave Ukraine Without Artillery
Says will take 2 years to "ramp up" to making 40 thousand shells a month — a pittance
US officials have announced a “dramatic” ramp up in the production of 155 mm shells is coming to satisfy the appetites of the Ukrainian font.
However, when you examine the details of what they say and place that in context, the actual truth of their words is just the opposite.
All they are saying is that they hope to go from building 15,000 shells monthly today, to 40,000 by early 2025.
But 40,000 is some 4X fewer than what Ukraine is consuming right now.
40,000 per month or 1,300 per day is a pitiful number.
Far from a drastic increase, these numbers would mean that the US is leaving Ukraine without artillery.
How come the world’s premier superpower needs 2 years of gearing up just to get to such a paltry number?
In WW2 a few months after Pearl Harbor it was already building 300,000 155 mm per month while also building 5 million (!) 105 mm and numerous other arms and ordnance types.
